Yoohoo!
First of all, HAPPY SUMMER!! There are not enough exclamation points in the world to express how great it is to have three whole months of no school. However, we still have robotics to do!
We were so sad to see that the Skyston season ended, but we jumped right into the Robots to the Rescue challenge. We split between the Marlbots 3526 entry and the Cosmos 12997 entry (half of our members on each team), and we had a great time pairing up together! The 3526 entry made a robot that could deliver masks and gloves to people out in public, while the 12997 built a temperature testing robot for the entrance to restaurants. Together, our teams were trying to help with the corona pandemic! We are pleased to announce that we placed 47th and 49th out of the 150 entries around the world, and we are so excited to have spent time working on CAD.
Last week, when we found out that FTC will in fact have a new game next year, we were so excited. We can’t wait to see what the new game is!
Right now, we are preparing for the WolfCorp Panel with teams from Regionals. We will be presenting on winning First Place Inspire and Winning Alliance First Pick; come stop by the Zoom to see up present! We are going to be talking about the important aspects of judging, branding, scouting, and more. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do!
Finally, we wanted to wish all of you safety. This has been a very tumultuous time with a lot of uncertainty, and our thoughts and good wishes go out to all of you. Stay safe and healthy, and we can’t wait to see you all soon (with distance-friendly hugs)!
Watch out for another update this fall when the season starts up again!
XOXO,
The Marlbots 3526
